Requirements For Documents

Criteria for documents evaluation include:

- Format (1 point)

- Content (used only for Country Profiles) (1 point)

- Concept (1 point) is divided into Solution (0.7) and Reference (0.3)

- Language (1 point) is divided into Vernacular/Grammar (0.6) and Style (0.6)

- Time of submission implies deduction of points (up to 1 point)

 

Format

Format includes heading, length of the document, print (its type and size), space between lines, margins, indents, justification, and may be other text features. Evaluators assess each of components, and thus get score of the whole criterion.

 

Content

Here evaluator looks at completeness of the document, its logic, analysis of information (in a contrast to enumeration of facts).

 

Concept: Solution

Evaluator is seeking for solution suggested by a delegate, logic of its presentation, and its uniqueness.

 

Concept: Reference

Evaluator looks at background for suggested solution: adopted documents, conducted events, their analysis.

 

Language: Vernacular/Grammar

It implies the level of language used, utilization of advanced vocabulary as well as grammatical correctness of the document. Although it does not mean that a document should look like encyclopedia of difficult English words. The balance should be preserved, the document should be interesting and easy to read.

 

Language: Style

It means logic and consistency of the document, unity of the narrative, common linguistic level. Here a delegate needs to pay attention even to such details as how numbers, per cent, monetary units are written.

 

Time of Submission

It is important to submit documents by deadlines set by Secretariat. Even if it is one minute late, it is still late.
