Through the participation in the APEC process, APEC Voices delegates are given the rare opportunity to have one of the most important dialogues with top policymakers to foster cooperation and prosperity to the classrooms and communities of the Asia-Pacific Region. This year’s APEC Voices of the Future Program will be held in Hawaii, the USA in conjunction with the APEC Summit 2011.

History of APEC Voices Programs
Since 1998, the APEC Voices program has been further expanded and enriched by the APEC Host Committees, ABAC Chairs and ABAC Members, and the APEC CEO Summits in New Zealand (1999), Brunei (2000), Mexico (2002), Chile (2004), Korea (2005), Vietnam (2006), Australia (2007), Peru (2008), Singapore (2009) and Japan (2010). The APEC Voices Leadership Team and its permanent Co-Chairs were first organized in the APEC New Zealand of 1999, and grew with the addition of the official Voices programs in the APEC Economies of China, Mexico and Singapore. Last year, over 120 delegates attended the annual APEC Voices Program in Japan from November 7-14, 2010. Main topics of discussion were the current issues affecting the APEC economies such as economic recovery, support for multilateral trading systems, and regional economic integration. This year, the APEC Voices of the Future will be held in Hawaii, the USA. |
