Saturday, 16 June 2018 15:21

On June 11, MUNRFE Vladivostok Club alongside with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Russia Amur branch conducted the Climate Project 2018. During the event, Mr. Evgeniy Chuvasov, WWF senior specialist for the forest-climate project, delivered a lecture about the climate change and the role of forests in the maintenance of the sustainable environment.

The participants had an opportunity to deepen their knowledge about international mechanisms of combating climate change. In particular, a great part of the discussion was devoted to Carbon Trade Exchange, Climate Projects, and other practical ways to decrease greenhouse gas emissions. Besides, the lecturer briefly described the activities of WWF Russia Amur branch in terms of various methods of working with Far Eastern companies to reduce their impact on the environment.

MUNRFE would like to express its gratitude to WWF Russia Amur branch, especially to Mr. Chuvasov, for the involvement in the Project.

MUNRFE appreciates WWF Russia as its official partner and thanks the Fund for their constant support and assistance in the implementation of Organizations` projects.

Climate change is one of the most dangerous issues of global concern. The United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 13 demands urgent actions to combat climate change and its impacts.

MUNRFE acknowledges the significance of any actions mitigating climate change. As a social-oriented Organization, MUNRFE considers the increase of awareness about how the ecosystems are affected by humanity and how people can help to preserve our planet for future generations.
