VIII International MUNRFE Conference Dates: November 29 - December 4, 2009 Place: Khabarovsk International MUNRFE Conference is a simulation of UN work created by representatives of different states trying to overcome challenges the international community faces, while practicing in decision-making, finding consensus, public speaking.
So far, MUNRFE has conducted 7 international and 9 regional conferences in 5 cities of the Russian Far East and Siberia: Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, Irkutsk, Blagoveschensk and Komsomolsk-on-Amure. Conference opening ceremonies are attended by rectors of Universities, representatives of city and regional administration, local businesses, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mass Media. In 2005, John Mark Pommersheim, US consul to Vladivostok and Mr. T. Branty, member of MUNFW board of directors, were honorable speakers at the ceremony.
MUNRFE has developed and introduced simulation of two new committees at its conferences: International Court of Justice and NATO.
We have always emphasized the importance of competition at MUNRFE conferences, during which delegates immerse in the atmosphere of political debates. For 4 days, delegates try to balance co-creation and competition. As a result, only best of the best are selected to present MUNRFE at the conference in San-Francisco and Rotary clubs, visits in which is an integral part of the trip.
For the last 6 years, the organization has been also running Security Council at Model UN of the Far West conferences.
VIII International MUNRFE Conference will be held in the city of Khabarovsk in December, 2009.
