2000
First debate club created inside of Khabarovsk Academy of Economics and Law. It is comprised of eight members. The team prepares and participates at Model United Nation Conference at San Francisco.
2001
Participation in the 51st session of the Model UN of the Far West, where the Russian team was ranked the 5th. Debate clubs open in Blagoveschensk and Komsomolsk-on-Amur. First Far Eastern MUN Conference is organized in Khabarovsk (60 participants, Peace Corp contributes 650$).
2002
Debate club opened in Vladivostok becomes on official HQ of the network. Launch of newspaper Progress & Development. Best delegation award at the 52nd session of the MUNFW (San-Francisco, USA). First International MUN Conference in the Russian Far East (115 participants) organized.
2003
Best delegation award for a second time in a row at SF MUNFW Conference. MUNRFE becomes a legal entity. In cooperation with Foundation of Russian American Economic Cooperation ( FRAEC, $70,000 technical assistance) MUNRFE opens four branches in distant locations (Magadan, Kamchatka, Sakhalin and Irkutsk). II MUNRFE International Conference (130 participants) organized. First MUNRFE-home-grown Russian managing director selected.
2004
MUNRFE in cooperation with the US Consulate General, Vladivostok organizes a Conference devoted to a memory of Mr. Luther King. Heads of all MUNRFE branches meet in a closed city of Komsomolsk to strategize on further development. MUNRFE organizes work of Security Council committee at the Conference. First Video Conference organized by MUNRFE brings branches from Irkutsk, Blagoveschensk and Vladivostok into one virtual room. MUNRFE, in cooperation with Eurasia Foundation ($20,000 technical assistance), creates summer program devoted to MUN debates and leadership for high school students from all over RFE. MUNRFE conducts its International Conference in Irkutsk, Siberia (100 participants).
2005
First IT MUNRFE Conference took place in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, bringing together 50 delegates. Summer Educational Program “Firestarter” conducted for the second time in Vladivostok without outside financial resources. 5th Anniversary of MUNRFE is held in Khabarovsk, bringing together several generations of MUNRFE. Task Force to MUNRFE locations is launched; new club in Birobidzhan is opened. IV International MUNRFE Conference held in Vladivostok (Far Eastern National University).
2006
Second IT MUNRFE Conference in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. Firestarter 2006 organized in Vladivostok for the third time in a row. For the first time, Youth Self-Governance Day (the city of Artem, Primorsky krai) is organized, which facilitated dialogue between the city authorities and youth. First conference outside University – V International MUNRFE Conference – with Forum on Student-Government and Global Village project held in Khabarovsk.
2007 Advanced Leadership School II was held in Komsomolsk-on-Amur in the framework of the President’s Council. Parliamentary Debate Tournament “Start Point” held in Khabarovsk and Vladivostok. MUNRFE published its Handbook on lectures. Youth Self-Governance in Nadezhdinsk (Primorsky krai) is conducted. MUNRFE is awarded with the Certificate of Recognition from the House of Representatives, Washington DC in honor of the accomplishments in promotion of civil development. Vladivostok MUNRFE club holds Video Conference with Oregon State University. For the first time, FireStarter program is organized in Khabarovsk, uniting more than 40 high school students from 5 cities of the Russian Far East |
